Rotring 600 Mechanical Pencil

The concept of a durable mechanical pencil designed to last through years of study and work drove my decision to purchase the Rotring 600. While I also own the more expensive Rotring 800, I am excluding it from this review as it lacks the structural rigidity and precise feedback of the 600.

The Rotring 600 is an iconic tool with over 40 years of history. It features a full brass body and a replaceable eraser. It is straightforward and effective; the substantial weight provides a distinct, premium tactile experience.

The significant downside is the fragility of the fixed metal tip. If dropped directly onto the guide pipe, it bends easily, and repair is difficult. Ultimately, this is a functional luxury, an investment intended to improve the experience of long study sessions.
