Edifier 1280DBs Speakers
After recently acquiring this audio equipment, I can confirm that the experience has been very good. They are good quality stereo speakers, modest ones where every dollar is justified. They don’t have bass that will make the whole house rumble, nor will you throw a party with them, but the audio quality and fidelity are more than good enough for home use: listening to music, watching YouTube videos, or playing video games.
I spent several days looking up reviews and comparisons between models before deciding to buy this one, and I was surprised by the consensus on the internet regarding how this line is among the best you can get for the price.
You might see the Edifier R1280T or the Edifier R1280DB recommended in older reviews; those speakers are the predecessors to the model I’m telling you about here. They are undoubtedly good audio equipment, but if the price difference isn’t significant, I really recommend the R1280DBs. It offers better connectivity (Bluetooth 5.0) and, very importantly, the ability to add a Subwoofer expansion just in case you want to do something a bit crazier in the future without having to replace the whole setup.
Finally, I’d like to mention a personal motivation I had for buying decent speakers. Like many PC users, I spend countless hours at the computer, and the weight of headphones regularly causes me neck discomfort and stiffness (and in-ear headphones are neither good nor comfortable for long sessions). Now, with a good pair of speakers, the PC experience with my head unencumbered is much more pleasant and sustainable.
